Well friends, the ypsipocalypse has been taking its toll and some of of our favorite places are gone now. Others have mutated and are trying to keep Ypsi culture alive in the really real world. 

The Fallen

Let us raise a glass to a few places that have announced they will not be reopening, at least not as the same place they were:

• Dolores – We will miss you and your fantastic tacos.
• Golden Wall – Announced they are closing at the end of September, due to COVID hardship combined with the landlord doubling their lease, or so the rumor goes.
• Ollie / Cream & Crumb – The latter is planned to reopen as a record shop and bar called the Wax Bar… so that is cool. But where will I get my Depot Town ice cream now I ask?

Open with Seating

These places are brave enough to be open for real with seating (indoor or out):

• 734 Brewing Co. – Pickup and delivery, outside seating out from is well spaced. Go team local beer!
• Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill – Open for real with outdoor and indoor seating and for delivery and takeout 11am-8pm. 
• Beezy’s Café – Tuesday-Sunday 9am-2pm. Seating out front. Carryout and Deliver with Grubhub. Reopening as of 5/1!!! Per their Facebook.
• Bobcat Bonnie’s – Indoor and outdoor seating, lots of outdoor since they closed down that strip of Washington St. 
• Corner Brewery (ABC) – Monday – Sunday: 12pm-9pm Let’s put that amazing beer garden to use! Still have limited menu and beer pickup out front.
• Cultivate – Some nice outdoor seating and they redid a bunch of things while closed. Coffee, Tea, Beer, Wine! They opened a to-go window 9am-5pm, Tuesday – Sunday, also local delivery within 5 miles.
• Encuentro Latino Restaurante – I see people sitting out front, not sure about indoor. 11am-3:30pm
• Got Burger – Website says Dine In, but anyone know if their seating is open for real? Monday – Wednesday: 11:30am–12:00am,  Thursday – Saturday: 11:30am–1:00am
• Haab’s – 11am-8pm every day – Open for sit down again, recommend reservations as they are being serious about it. Facemasks and distanced seating! Haab’s survived WWII, we’re not going to let some epidemic shut it down!
• Maiz Mexican Cantina – Patio seating only right now, way to be responsible! Also, takeout margaritas now, finally the state government passes some laws those of us semi-pro drinkers can appreciate. Great setup for takeout, really safe! 
• Ma Lou’s – Seems like they are open for seating, but it is a bit small in there. I’ll stick to taking it to go for now. Tuesday-Saturday 4-8pm
• Powell’s Pub – 11:30 am to 2:00 seating indoor and out. 
• Sidetrack – open with indoor and outdoor seating, 4pm-8pm
• The Tap Room – 3:00pm – 1:00am? Open for outdoor seating only. That section of Washington is closed off as a beer garden and the seating is spaced extra far apart. It is good this mainstay is up and running.
• Tower Inn – Open with the patio seating. 11:30am-9pm
• Ypsi Alehouse – Tuesday-Thursday – 4pm-9pm, Friday-Sunday, 12pm-9pm – Open indoor and on the patio. Beer & Cider to go! 

Open Just for Takeout… I think?

• 24th Cheese Cakerie
• Abe’s Coney Island – 9am-11pm – Holy Crap! Check out their website! F’ing amazing! – Anyone seen if they reopened the indoors?
• The Bomber – Wow! That website is a blast from the past. They are offering curbside pickup and pairing with Grubhub for delivery. I’m not sure the hours, looks like 8am-2pm… maybe?
• Go! Ice Cream – Open most Saturdays, check out their website. I think order online and pickup by appointment. I hear Rob is running the whole show for the duration! They added a pickup window in the alley, nice!
• Hyperion Coffee – look for discounts on their website!
• Insomnia Cookies – so warm and gooey!
• Jimmy Johns – ’nuff said
• Red Rock – Not only the BBQ, takeout Beer and Wine too! Monday 1:30pm-7:30pm, 11am-8pm every other day – still just takeout… I’d eat on their patio though 🙂
• STUFD – 11am-10pm
• Wok Mandu – Monday 3pm-9pm, Tuesday-Saturday 12-9pm …I really keep meaning to try this. They are brand new then this crazy crap goes down!
• Veg-O-Rama – 10am – 10pm – crazy good veggie sandwiches.
• The Wurst Bar – Sometimes I just want the kimchi they put on the wurst. Also, beer takeout! 4:00pm-10:00pm
